ALIEN and Tom Skerritt Go to Sundance

Alien is a 1979 science fiction/horror film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Dan O'Bannon--and ranked by the American Film Institute as one of the top movies in the history of the industry. Tom Skerritt plays the role of Captain Arthur Dallas.

Dan O’Bannon started the script for Memory in 1971, abruptly hitting a wall at page 29. But after the idea gestated for several years, it took the form of Ridley Scott’s masterpiece Alien.

Alien and Skerritt will be attending the Sundance Film Festival next week for the premiere of MEMORY - The Origins of Alien

Here is what Sundance has posted:

MEMORY - The Origins of Alien / U.S.A. (Director and screenwriter: Alexandre O. Philippe, Producer: Kerry Deignan Roy) — The untold origin story behind Ridley Scott’s Alien – rooted in Greek and Egyptian mythologies, underground comics, the art of Francis Bacon, and the dark visions of Dan O’Bannon and H.R. Giger. A contemplation on the symbiotic collaborative process of moviemaking, the power of myth, and our collective unconscious. World Premiere
